another project yay

Really excited to get this "project" underway and completed before the holidays
It's been a while since I had the chance to do anything creative so HAHAHAH uhm soz if I get super involved and all that....

I have this massive post about my weekend but I didn't get to finish it this morning and went to sleep at 1am. Come on I started the post at 10pm and took no breaks. Why does it take so long for me to blog.... but anyway I shall leave that post in draft mode for a few more days.

Recently been back to this song, like omg why can't I get sick of it
would be a great song for duet choreo
-hint-

and no I did not find it from gta 4 please.
I'm still stuck watching wife swap on youtube I don't have time for game -cough- IB -cough-

Finally got qtac and uac filled out on Sunday! My preferences are legit so realistic if you know what I mean #nomed I'm actually super surprised when dad let me put this weird trololol course down as my last preference for qtac HHAHAHA I have 2 more space on my uac, someone suggest an interesting course? I honestly don't care if it sounds retarded because the more unique, and unwanted, the more wanted in the future?

Post QCS + IB Mocks

Please relate,

For QCS

  • Hopes that written task is not about something mysterious and unknown like stars, planets, universe. Opens stimulus. Wants to destroy stimulus.
  • Writes "tears stacked welled up in her eyes" in QCS written task
  • Expands words like "we're" to "we are" because I'm having trouble getting to the word count.  Adding more content would ruin it.
  • Spends the last 15 minutes thinking about what title should be given to this fabulous piece of work. Ends up with the corniest and the most retarded AND confusing title in the history of my academic life.
  • Crosses out dais and wekes and replaces them with days and weeks because tbh it looks like a new language I don't want to learn
  • My handwriting changes as time goes on, especially in QCS short response (bad time management skills)
  • Agitated when I make the label bend in the corner where I try to pick it off. Feels like I've already lost the game.
  • Gets super irritated and demotivated when I stick the label on the box provided and it's not perfectly straight or on/in the box
  • Gets frustrated because there were no questions that required the use of colouring pencils. WHY YOU BREAK MY DREAM QCS.
  • Celebrates because there were no questions that required the use of a compass. Didn't have a compass.
  • Actually enjoyed doing the maths question in multichoice part 1 over every other question in the paper. Let me do you again.
  • Couldn't do the second last question in short answer. I really do suck at maths ......and english because I don't understand what they meant by "part"
  • Finishes QCS and relieved that I still have IB to redeem myself
For IB Mocks
  • Thinks sl maths was easier than last term. Loses marks from small errors which totaled up to a disgraceful number.
  • Felt that paper 1 was easier than paper 2, gets better mark in paper 2. Never trusting feelings again.
  • Leaves answer as K=+/- 2 (example), loses 1 mark because the correct answer is "K=-2 and K = 2"
  • Confuses teacher when multiplication step was done outside the box. unintentionally.
  • Intimidated when the teacher writes your name after "how did you get this without a calculator" then having the comment crossed out because yep I did it outside the box. I've learnt my mistake sorry.
  • Couldn't do some of the easiest giveaway questions but managed to get "harder" questions right. Maths. It made me sad.
  • School raises the cut offs for maths. Facts. It made me sadder.
  • Remembers quotes that ended up being totally irrelevant to any of the questions in English paper 2.
  • Studies the importance of being earnest 2 days before the exam. Misses out the most important feature of the play - black humour. Knew it was a bad idea but it was worth a try.
  • Only class that didn't get their English paper back because the teacher was away, like usual. It was expected.
  • Liking my handwriting in the past few English Papers. Mentally communicates with grade 6 teacher EACH TIME and telling her off for giving me my pen licence much later in the year compared to everyone else in the class. Oh Yes I still remember you very well.... You were racist too. How ironic when you talk about love, equality and acceptance whilst holding the Holy Bible in the middle of Christian Studies and then progress to trash talk about other races. Bitch get your hands off the Holy Bible and get yo shit together, you've stained the words and preaching from your own religion. What a joke. Someone not even baptized or officially accepted, has more respect for your religion than someone like you, who call yourself a committed and accepted believer of your own religion. Karma better be doing its job.
  • Losing all hopes in getting a 7 for HL mando after so many confusions in paper 1
  • Walking out of a DT exam early, knowing that the possibility of getting a wrong answer right after changing it, is far less than just leaving the answer as it is. My worst area in Maths is probability.
  • Stares at the flashing light (from the ventilating fan) on the floor for 20 mins after finishing DT paper 1 for the same reason as the previous dot point. Anticipates for a supervisor to walk past and let the light hit them to estimate the angle at where the light was shining from. Proceeds to attempt to draw out an imaginary path from the light source to the floor.
  • Blurs own vision whilst gazing at the light and listing the things that looks similar to the shape. very amused.
  • Flips through DT paper 3 and finds a question along the lines of  "State 2 symptoms of nut allergy" in Option A: Food science and Technology. School only allows Option C: CAD/CAM - the most confusing option in the syllabus.
  • Finishes mocks. Glad that it's still mocks.

restore

source of motivation to get up from a good nap: need to charge phone

could of just slept all the way to tomorrow but no nope can't bare the thought of leaving the house with electronics at 20% or lower.

10 gaming facts about me

1. My first mmorpg game was Runescape : my cousins invited me to play and we'd grind for nights when they come over to my house (which was about every night). We played hard out for nearly 2 years or so but we had a lot of fun on it back in the days, like trolling, chatting up random people and getting 13908530294823 boyfriends, to the point where I had to record down their ign and what their characteristics were to ensure that the conversation connected from one night to another, so there's no confusion and I don't get busted right on the spot AHHAHAAHAHHAHA people be following you around the map and spam "be my gf" until you accept them. That's right, my plateskirt brings all the boys to the yard.

2. I was a member on Runescape for a few months : I was surprised that dad agreed to pay for it. I unsubscribed because being level 48 ish (old level system) as a member isn't really beneficial in any way and it's always so quiet in members world. Also, I don't have enough money to buy a house and decorate it. Jokes I did have the money for it but I need to have decent amount of money in my bank to feel safe. Then I went back to playing free till level 70+ and by that time my cousins were around 90+ because they started earlier than me and were better at games than me. I'm also a big fan of zezima. He will forever be my idol in runescape. forever.

3. My second mmo game was Club Penguin : This game was so beast with all the mini games. I joined club penguin under the influence of my cousins (again). I actually miss my cousins, we're not even close now :'( lol not nelson and jason but the other two that I've never mentioned of. They play a large role in my entire gaming experience. Let's refer them to "the Ys" because I'll be mentioning them again later in this post.

4. I was a member on Club penguin : The Ys and I joined EPF, short for elite penguin force, and were active agents roaming around places and stalking people LOLOLOL Yes we thought the spy phone was badass. Being a member on club penguin, my penguin was always stylish and had one of the coolest igloos ever. I had a few puffs and took them each out on a stroll every night. #unconditionalequallove

5. I was up to date with the latest tamagotchis : Back in grade 7 and 8 when tamagotchis were "banned" from school, we'd go to the toilet at lunch and connect our tamagotchi's under the toilet walls. We're so rebel. Had 2 or sometimes 3 tamagotchis in my pocket just keeping it close throughout the day. I gifted them away to my friends afterwards when I grew out of it.

6. I'm pro only on wii sports bowling : Let me tell you the bowling ball looks super shiny. I love it but now I'm super scared I'll do really bad and lower my skill points AND lose my shiny ball. It think I reached pro in grade 8 so my skills have deteriorated :(

7. I play manual on mariokart wii and ds : I'm one away (special cup) from getting all gold for all the circuit cups on wii and I know most of the secret paths/shortcuts in the game. Mariokart on ds was definitely easier than wii because there's no need to physically "steer" the controller. With that said, I don't like slotting the controlling into the wheel and hold onto the wheel because it feels weird AHHHAHAHA The extra boost after a sharp turn/drift with manual makes life so much easier. That's how I beat the wii course records, I doubt it's easy to beat them all with automatic. Speaking of the courses, I dreaded rainbow road just like most people but I love peach's garden. I also played online, I'm not sure what my VR is but it's above 5000 (I'll check the next time I play). The climb is pretty tough with all the japanese players on international going unbelievably fast #hacks

8. I'm always p3 on super mario bros : The yellow mushroom head is always me, I'm just so use to her and I'll only loook at her in game so when I play p1, p2, p4, I'll screw up and die first.  Whenever I'm in a safety position, I like to sit back and press the down button (mushroom bop dance) and watch my cousins press A and submit to me. When we finished the game, it felt like a part of me crumbled and died on the inside.

9. Despite having a league of legend account for almost a year, I'm still not level 30 yet : I don't spend as much time playing league, instead I just watch endless youtube vids and streams relating to league. I'm actually scared that my parents would walk in and catch me gaming on a school day or weekend because they'd say "if you have time to game then you should of had time to do ________________ (the list goes on forever)". They're fine with me gaming if they've seen that I've been putting a lot of effort into studying, like for mocks, and they actually encouraged me to game and relax but lol is sometimes a bit too intense and stressful and I can't be bothered opening the client #lazy2themax

10. Boosted through mw3 campaign with a retarded wii remote : BUT I still haven't finished it because I actually feel dead every time I play the game so the next time I get a thought along the lines of "let's actually finish this muddatrucking game", the other part of me responds with "no your eyeballs are going to legit pop out of your eye sockets and you will get stuck in that position for the rest of your life don't do it brah". The main problem I have with it is that there's not enough time to sit back and think or just rest for a bit, even between animations and crap. Even though I could pause it but the other part of me would tell me otherwise. Vision first, vision first, gotta keep your vision clear for a real life war. Playing cod on comp is kindddd of (??) easier than wii remote because the remote is just retarded and super sensitive like "omg did you just changed your posture/yawn? let me move the aim to somewhere far away from where you were aiming at". Uhm also the graphics isn't as bad as what everyone says, it's still alright I'm not complaining.

I played other mmorpg games, it's not that they're not worth a mention but these 10 just stuck with me for the longest. My childhood gaming experience was based all around wii LOL that was the only gaming console I had and still have. I don't own a psp, ps1/2/3/4, xbox, wii u or nintendo ds but we trade around between the cousins. I tried some genre of games but they're quite hard to pick up as well as being entertained and drawn towards the game for a med/long period of time. Oh and I watched more than I played pokemon.... gaming consoles in younger days were luxurious. We were content with trading cards :')

Confessions of a design technology student

Mocks are finally over for me woohoo! Good luck to those who still have HL business for the whole day tomorrow! Uhm well I'm back today with some confessions to make. Note that these are mymymymymymy confessions as a design technology student, but I'm not trying to represent all the dt students but then it may be something that some of my homie gs also agree with. I'm just voicing my thoughts on the common misconceptions and things that a non dt student THINK they know but they really don't. Yeah hey, you're just blowing off signals for dt students to silently laugh at your silly remarks hehehehe.
Anyway so let's get right into it:

"It's easy"
As much as dt students keep saying that the subject is bloody easy. We're actually lying. And not lying. It's kind of in between, but we like to say it's easy because it's somewhat straightforward in comparison with other sciences like biology, chemistry and physics and we don't want to agro everyone else. On the flip side, it's not easy because it's just too easy. Design Tech students ya feel me?

First of all, there's something called method marks and they're like marks for the right procedures or I'd like to think that they're effort marks for trying but failing to get the right answer. Method marks are like saviors. I believe method marks are given in maths, chemistry and physics (amiright pls correct me if I'm wrong). Let's take those subjects out of the equation, and that leaves us with biology and design technology, in which, both are content heavy subjects and there are no. bloody. method marks. FML.

Design tech has a lot of comparisons, advantages, disadvantages, application etc of terms and the mark scheme is very specific. So students must put down the exact, same thing written in the mark scheme (or something very very very similar to it) in order to get a mark. Let's look at a SL paper 2, nine mark question mark scheme (because I can't find any others on google atm):
Oh yep the answers look pretty straight forward but do you realise that you only need to have those words written down to get the marks. We actually don't need to write a full paragraph about it, we can list our answers. I'm going to deduce that the question probably goes along the lines of....
"Discuss the aspects that a consumer may consider towards purchasing the table in terms of purchase, initial use, long term use"
LOL let's ignore the fact that I use "purchase" twice in a sentence......
So they're nice enough to list the three major branches but the marks come from the additional 3 we write under each "branch". The thing is, we can be either spot on, or way off. This is actually one of the easiest question I've seen, most of them are really retarded. We tried this question when we were last hour cramming for the exam
disclaimer: I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post question bank questions online so I might take it off soon

Yeah sometimes I feel like the exam is mocking that little bit of creativity inside my mind.

Indeed, we can bs through the exam and if we're lucky we might be able to get something right but that's what's lame about it. The answers may look alright but in reality, if it's not on the mark scheme, then you ain't getting that mark aight. In astrophysics, I could kind of describe things and there are no in betweens. IT ONLY FUSES HELIUM. END OF STORY. Meanwhile in Design Technology...... I don't know how to explain it very well but it's just endless frustration because it's easy to learn the syllabus, but the answers to the questions are hard.

"You need to be good at drawing to do well in design technology"
Another common misconception. The only time we ever drew together in class was when we were in the pre-IB times and when we were learning topic 1.3 (out of 12 topics). In pre-IB, we had to do an activity to transform a letter into something that has a name that starts with that letter. E.g. S to snake, F to fish or O to orange (LOL). The other time was learning to draw perspective, isometric, orthographic drawings and that is it.

I lied.
We also need to have some sketches in our design IAs but we don't get marks for good drawings, we get marks for good annotations. I'm going to quote Mr Gooch on his comments for my last IA, "your drawings are very detailed and it looks good, but you don't have enough annotations so that's why you were marked down in your development section". Okkkkooool. Damn reality is harsh. Design Tech is not an art class, it's a "explain your design" class. So people who think they're bad at drawing are clearly not at a disadvantage in the IB course. They just need to make the drawings clean and have lots of annotations.

Also, I haven't came across an IB question that wants us to draw anything.

"Most of the design Internal Assessments are composed of drawings"
Nononononononononononono.
The Internal Assessment has 4 sections,
1. Planning
2. Research
3. Development
4. Evaluation
5.* Manipulative skills (only in major design project)
And the only part that has drawings is development. All the other parts are just pure explanation, data, graphs, tables and so on. So no, we don't make picture books....
totally. devastated.

"The terms are so easy in Design Technology it's all basic knowledge"
Unless you're a walking talking encyclopedia like Anthony, your comments are invalid.
I spent the entire day before paper 1 and 2, just youtubing everything in topic 11 Advanced manufacturing techniques and I'm still confused with one or two. Especially lost wax casting :( I asked the dt kids in the morning and no one knows exactly how it works. Thank goodness it wasn't in the exam!

I've actually learned something useful in design technology. Like the range of adhesives for different materials. DON'T USE SUPERGLUE FOR EVERYTHING. Oh and they're actually called cyanoacrylate. HAHAHAHHAHAH cya-no-a-cry-late HAHAHAHHAHHAHA

Do you know what a feed hopper is? Do you know what a flash is? do you know what the draft angle in moulding is? Do you know what a building envelope is? Do you know what fuzzy logic means? Do you know what manikin means? Do you know the classes of levers? Do you know the 3 types of gears? I can go on forever and no, the terms doesn't always present what it actually means :(

There are easy terms like atoms, fibers, molecules and what not. There are also business terms like batch production, life cycle production and many many more but there are terms that are exclusive to design technology so hey don't look down on us. We're still learning things, and they're not basic knowledge because I had a lot of trouble trying to find videos on youtube that shows me some manufacturing processes.

"Design Technology is not a science"
I'm going to kind of agree with this. I think Design Technology is a bit like business but less on numbers, more on knowledge and the correlation between manufactures and designers; consumers and manufacturers; market and products; technology and everything; environment and materials everything. It doesn't feel like this is science itself. Surely IB placed design technology under sciences for a reason, and we're not the ones to decide that.

Hmmmm that concludes my confessions. Although the post is a bit awkward but is post is an accomplishment for me. I finally got back into the zone this morning :'D Side note, gotta make a post about qtac and all those tacs like omg what will be life? It's perfectly normal for dad to just break into my room and suddenly have a d&m session with me and last night he was like "we need to talk about your course choices before you fill them in", damn right I was shitting myself because he's a bit concerned with law and all that. He also said "男怕入錯行,女怕嫁錯郎 .........但是是相反的" which means "men are afraid of getting in the wrong industry, women are afraid of marrying the wrong man.... but it's the opposite for you". Maaaaaaaaan why you gotta be so, straightforward. They'll agree with my choices, then deny it, then propose something and convince me to want to do it, then deny it. That happens over and over again it's like they're tad bit too helpful sometimes that makes me feel like I don't actually get to make any life choices on my own. damn you reality.

Still writing a post, or two, three, four, five, six....twenty

Just a random post passing through lolololol I'm still working on a post and I can't finish it off while keeping it informative to a certain extent (like not just me spazzing out). Anyway, I guess I'll be able to finish that post tomorrow? Or not? I've made a lot of promises in the past to blog about certain events but I never did. Yes, yes I feel guilty about it. It's just there sitting there, half completed...

Two of the drafts are actually posts that are about the same length as the "study" post but with pictures BUT I'm just not satisfied with it because it's incomplete and awkward :(
Some posts, of which I spent around 2 hours or more thinking and typing about it, are still yet to be posted. I actually dislike this omg  the duration of the urge to write and blog about life events are not even long enough for me to actually finish the post. That's how sad it is. Dammit.

Whilst I was writing "confessions of a design technology student, I was actually 1/3 way through but I totally broke out of the zone because it was dinner time. Now I can't get back into it and finish the post AFLKJSDLKG

Anyway I'm glad that mocks are over for me :D
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Study

To begin with, I might as well tell recount what happened on the first day of my "3 Day intensive (cough)-cram-all-12-dt-topics study" schedule. So normally on a Saturday, I wake up around 10am -11am, marching into brunch time and just spend/waste the whole day chilling and procrastinating. I'd preferably refer that activity as the "self driven research project" as really, all I do is google (or whatever) things I want to learn about, though I'm not really sure if the internet is the best place to start off, but given that it's practically right in front of me, shouting in my face "YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO USE ME", I always end up googling things instead of going to the library and finding a book about it.

Instead of doing all that, I sat down with my computer put aside (shitballz that's a rare sight I'm telling you), and just wrote and read the revision guide. People study in many different ways and to be frankly honest, I really don't know how to study effectively. I always follow the, "rewrite your notes, read and revise concepts" but I never really found it effective. Meaning that there seems to be a process that's missing, and the reason why I can't perform as well in certain subjects, but most of the time, it's just my laziness kicking in at the crucial moments. For e.g.

"Ahhhh it's maths paper 2 tomorrow"
-revise through how to use gdc for 20 minutes-
"I'm sleepy"
-sits there and contemplates on the importance of sleep-
"Yeah I'm sleeping"
-Sleeps at 9pm-

I'm not sure if that's just pure laziness or right now my priorities have changed like everything is centered around my level of alertness. Back to the topic of studying. I use to not study at all in Taiwan, I'd just go to cram school and we'd revise through doing exam papers. I'm not sure if that's studying because it didn't feel like it LOL

Since we're on the topic of study, I might as well just tell you guys my battle to... uhm...today?

"Study" in Primary School
I had primary at Calvary and needless to say, I did not study one single bit. I was always on top for maths (because I studied year 1 and 2 in Taiwan and that was enough to carry me through to ..about grade 5.. crazy yeah), but I sucked at English, SOSE and science, which is pretty much everything other than maths. Then again, people decided to put words into Maths and so the grade 2 me was hella confused like "What  is half past 2?" Now I think back, hmmm the days, the days. I'm really thankful for the teacher who taught me one on one for reading. Since I had so much trouble reading and comprehending things from a day to day basis, the school arranged a teacher to speed boost my reading level. Let's say the expected reading level was 22 at year 2 (it was), I started off at 1 and made my way to level 20 in 5 months. YEY-YEEE Proud or what! HAHHAHAH I couldn't even spell "grandparents" in grade 2 cram school so I was stuck in between the highest English level at that time for my grade, and the second highest level. Awks and I transferred from classes about 2 or 3 times HAHAHAHAHAHA Good on ya Maggie! I did all my homework but that doesn't count as studying.

Actually, I had a tutor and her name was Petra. She was a very sweet lady. Yeah I never really use those two words irl so when I say it, I mean it. She was my tutor from grade 2 to grade 7 and she'd come to my house once a week to teach me English. She was also a teacher at another school so she executed a lot of fun activities in the time we were together. She made me write journals each week and that was probably the reason why I started writing diaries from that time. Just a heads up I don't write them anymore and I'm thinking to start them again (lol what is this blog for then?). Not going to lie one single bit but I occasionally wrote about guys, but they're all in recount/monologue form since I don't write poems or other romantic shit in my spare time. Whoawhoawhoa drifting off topic once again, so those writing habits kind of improved my fluency in writing (??) but because of that, I tend to drift off in all directions when I write. AS YOU CAN SEE. So much troubles for qcs writing, I go off everywhere and quickly draw back and resolute to death. Psht it's the simplest ending. Anyway, then in grade 7 she told me that she couldn't tutor me with her abilities anymore because I was getting to a stage where what the year level standard requirements are surpassing her tutoring year level range. I was indeed very sad at that time, she was a friend to me, she was a teacher to me, she was like the beanstalk to the jack and I was not mentally prepared to fly solo. In the end, she gave me her email and she stopped coming to my house.

"Study" in Middle School
I moved schools (lol if you think about that literally... I'm strong as fu-) and started grade 6 at Redeemer. I saw so many Asians there and vomit gallons of rainbows. I was no longer in the environment where English was the only language that I could communicate with. Regardless, the Asians still spoke in English because Asian is not a language and we all speak different languages anyway. Waiit, except for Julie, she spoke to me in Mandarin most of the time. I blame you for my broken English!! Just joking, but due to my friend's cultural influences, they were really hard working and studied for exams. So naturally, I begin to explore the wonders of "studying". Watch and learn, watch and learn. They're writing notes, ok I'll write notes too. They're reading them and thinking about it, I'll read my notes and think about it. And so on.

It wasn't too hard to get a grasp on how "studying" works but I still rarely did it anyway because I didn't see it necessary 24/7 as I was able to do decent/good with the amount of time I put into studying. When I were to study, I'd only do it for science and sose because the amount of work given in other classes are deemed enough to get people to a pass or better if they do more exercises in the amount of time. I still sucked at sose though, I get Cs in sose no matter how hard I try :( Whereas science at Redeemer, at that time, was straightforward, just study and you'll get there. I should of realised that I needed to study in a different way for SOSE, it's not like 1 method of studying works for every single subject. I was late to work that out, look at me now. I finally broke out of the C zone for SOSE in grade 9 :''''''D THAT IS TOTALLY WORTH A MENTION. Considering I'm not the straight A student and I have had many obstacles and that was the hurdle race that I thought I'd be tripping for the rest of my life. Aside from SOSE and science, the other subjects... christian studies, english, maths, japanese, visual art and PE weren't really subjects that I studied for, completing homework and listening in class was enough to get me to where I want to be.

I felt kind of bad for putting in less effort in studying than everyone else but still getting decent results. I still honestly think that the grades to get into Honours list at Redeemer are way to low. I think it was, 3 or 4 As to get into it? And because of that, I haven't been trying much harder in my studies - like be a straight A student. My objective was, "just get yourself into the list all the way until graduation" (yes I wanted to graduate at Redeemer I was sick of moving schools). The reason why I think it's way too low wasn't solely because it demotivated me and some people to get even better results, it was because other schools had way higher standards and hence actually looks much more "glorifying" to be in their academic ___ list. I believe state high's requirement is to get straight As? I guess this is also one of the reasons why I wanted to challenge myself and come to QA :D??D:

"Study" in High School
When dad got the phone call from the academy to tell us that I was successful in enrolling in the academy, I didn't jump around and scream and all that. I was just like, okay. I don't know why but I had a feeling that school life won't be as easy as before and I'm wasn't sure whether I should celebrate for getting in, or mourn over the fact that I won't be able to stay in my comfort zone. So I adopted a neutral response and just go along with the procedures in transitioning into smt. The school environment back then was so chilled, the year levels above us were chatting, gaming, and just having fun in general. I didn't see any signs of sleep deprived or stressed seniors back then. Yet they were able to achieve as well or even better than ...uhm... yeah. The admin and teachers actually treated them like university students and gave them the power to decide for themselves and that was the greatest gift a student could ever receive imo. I'm talking about the students that actually give damn about their school work and future, not students that just want to kill time and get school over and done with, giving absolutely no damn about anything. Given that kind of impression I had on the school, I was ready to try and find my way of studying and pick up my sht and improve my work ethics.

Plans always sound so nice....
I did study in grade 10 and did the standard, write, write, write studying method but I didn't really get the grades that I was hoping for. For set plan, the teacher looked at my scores and she told me that it was pretty good but I was like "nah it could be better". I had 4As and 4Bs and some Bs were cringe worthy because some were just a bit off an A. I tried hard for them and didn't really get the scores I wanted in return. I don't really know why I chose those subjects in SET plan (was it called set plan?), now I look back. For example, I chose anti business because people said it was the easiest anticipated subject. Ya know, experiences are valuable and all that. When actually, I've been doing way better in psychology and I enjoyed psychology classes with Ms Ali. Quick fact, I got a B in business and A in psychology. What the heck was I thinking? But then again, the work load was so much lighter in business than other anti subjects. Oh wait I think the reason why I didn't pick psychology was because it was essay based and I hated essays.

I also stopped doing Kumon maths. I started it in grade 8 at Level D and stopped at L (just 2-3 levels from finishing fml). Kumon encourages students to excel and finish the course asap but I didn't think that'll work out for me because I was doing definite/indefinite integrals, inequalities and crap like that in Level J and L and I knew that I won't be anywhere near those until I'm in grade 12 AND by that time I would of forgotten everything to do with it -> What's the point? So I got my kumon ashr+2  and quit it for good. This time, I was back flying solo for school work again.

Then in grade 11 came Bring it on. I thought that I would be able to improve on school work as well as pushing the group forward in B.I.O. but of course, I was wrong. My grades kind of slid down a bit but not very much. The worst drop I had was in physics, I basically just went nah can't do, and failed a subject first time in my life. Excusing myself with the responsibilities of BIO was not the right thing to do so I just blamed myself for not being able to hold it together. Thankfully, the responsibilities were delegated to another person after heats and so a portion of the load was kind of lifted off my back and I could focus more on school work without thinking about BIO the whole time. I decided to just have fun and work hard for anti for the rest of the year. I would still cram for most assignments, I studied, but only around a week or 2 days before exams because I have siq time managements like that. For Practice IOP that we had to record, I started the assignment the night before and recorded it at 6am in the morning and scored well in it. I never start my assignment the day I get it. One of the worst habit I'd like to get rid of but heehee there are no more assignments left for me now :DDDD ... until uni. I just need to get into the zone of doing whatever I'm doing, because if I sit there and my brain is filled with random junk, then the truth is, I will not be able to produce a decent ANYTHING until I wake up and switch out of that zone. Now that's something I learned about myself throughout the years of attempting to do anything related to life.

Oh did I mention, my friends started getting into League of legends and so I installed the game. Ahhh studies... Lol jokes I actually don't think it effected my grades that much because I didn't dive into the game. It was more like, yeah testing the waters with my toes, temperature alright? ok calves in water only, calves in water ONLY. Yep I had league of legends by my side for anti and ehhhh, it comforted me.
"It's ok maggie, without a 7, you still have me" -pats-

It started to hit me, holy smizzle I'm in Year 12! Time sure goes fast. I can spell "grandparents", I can comprehend things reasonably, I am actually not good at maths, I can do well in English and Science is actually not straightforward!!111!!!11! At least I've finally realised that I just need to learn to switch gears, if you know what I mean. Just simply copying down notes and definitions aren't my thing. I need to switch gears and get into a new frame of mind to actually let things sink in. EUREKA! I've always been using my normal mode when studying and that's why things are always trapped in and out of my head and so only some sifts through HAHAHAHAH Now I hope I'm able to perform better with knowledge that I have a manual mind fml why u no automatic. I have to tell myself "It's time to get down on English ;)))" every time I'm preparing or writing an English paper. Similarly "It's time to get down on meeetthsss lol jks MATHS" for Maths obviously. Switching gears in English worked last term and hopefully this mocks result will give me a clear indication of whether or not I've really picked out the problem in why I'm so slow at getting things sometimes. I finished shatting myself for mocks because I only have DT left and it's just content based with minimal calculation and conceptual things. -Insert magical beats- Hmm that's about it for my "studying" journey. There's so much other co-curriculum things but I was kind of really involved with those things back in the days so that's enough for another full post huehuehue. Right now, I'm still flying solo for school work and I'm not sure if I should fly tight with other birds cause ya know the physics behind birds flying in V shape.

soz for dunkey's subscribers for having to deal with the phrase "zone" ;)

Woke up earlier today because I just went flat out and slept from 9pm onward. NO ONE CAN STOP ME.
Anyway, so I found this...
HAHAAHAHA OMFG AJSLFKAJSLFKJSDFLJDS RECRUITING 7 PEOPLE LOLJOKES IB  </3

I don't know why they're keeping the creepiness level down so low in the trailer but pretty sure it's scarier than that. The catch in this game is that each person only gets 30 bullets so it's a coop based game... and no you can't wield other types of weapons or physically hit them. It works like lazer force, so you wear this thing on your wrist that counts how many bullets you have left and yeah glhf :D
This thing ends on the 10th of November so damn I'll definitely missing out on that :(

This is obviously more interesting than the other famous "Abandoned hospital" event where they actually used an abandoned hospital and transformed it into a maze-like place where it's the biggest haunted house in the world. Not only are you visually stimulated by all these creepy stuff, but you can also smell fermented things, assuming like blood, organs etc. The scary thing about it is that there's no certain path that you HAVE to take, you just wonder around until, eventually, you find the exit yourself. It's quite old actually as it was built in 2008. CLICK HERE FOR PICS HUEHUEHUE Apparently the creepiest room/area you walk through is one where you hear a lot of baby's screaming/crying noises and there's a creepy nurse sitting on a swing chair carrying the baby. asdflaksjglksajfds O_O Anyway, people can enter in groups of 2 to 3 and the fastest time you can possibly get out (without getting lost) is 50 minutes.

SEE, BIOHAZARD THE REAL SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ABANDONED HOSPITALOLOLOL

I think I'm way too excited for the weekend...

It's late and I'm sleepy

Drawing instead of typing proper, comprehensible English sentences because paper 1 and 2 had drawn out all the English in me. Which is of course, not very much. So it's obvious why I'm even more incoherent AT LIFE recently. Plz deal with my crappy sketches I suck at drawing LLULULULUL MY DOOR AND WALL IS WIGGLY HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA this is why I can't see myself doing architecture at all!

p.s. good luck for your theory exam tomorrow JULIE的鄰居- Bianca! If you happen to forget the folk song, you can write a song for our beautiful mando class instead LOLOLOL NAH YOU CAN ACE THIS!
(um do they even still test that? @@)

I'M DOOMED @sl_english

rambling: worse taste everrr

As a Taiwanese child, we've all tasted both the liquid and tablet medications prescribed by the doctors. Yeah I know medications are not designed to 'taste good' but they taste soo bitter and have this really strong 'false' taste to it. Liquid forms were alright, some had a bit of sugar to it so it was sweet and all gee. But as we age, we're no longer given medication in liquid form, we get it in little 'naked-looking' tablets. Yes, no coating whatsoever, like the instant you pop it in your mouth, it leaves a distinctive taste trail on your tongue and all the way down your throat. It's really gross and I have actually choked on them several times true story. My throat will just push the medication back up as hard as it could (even though in my mind I wanted to just swallow it and get it over and done with). What's worse is, a normal cold/flu/sickness medication are given in packets. Each time you'll have to take the whole packet. The packet generally contains at least 4 to 8 tablets. Some are even split in half. Whilst they may look small, but they're the deadly ones. Why? Because in unsuccessful attempts to swallow them, they'll most likely get stuck somewhere in your mouth and start dissolving (beware the taste spreading in your mouth SOS), then you've reached the dead end of the game. GGWP. They are the nightmares beyond the sleepless nights. So when I finish exterminating the tablet from my body, I look at the rest of the tablets in the packet and reside to the "I'll let my body fix this itself, I don't need no medication" method.

Now I'm thankful that the medication prescribed here are mostly coated or don't seem to dissolve in a few seconds once in contact with anything 'moist'. To make a comparison with how disgustingly familiar the taste is to me... imagine a person with sharp nails scratching the blackboard... yeah you can totally imagine that right? LOL Oh wait maybe not... you were probably fortunate enough to only meet the white board. Damn blackboards were ...fun. Anyway, I'm assuming that you'll feeling the 'sensation' of the screeching sound and yep, that's kinda how it feels when someone mentions 藥包 (mediation packet). QRWQJRLSKJFALKFJSLDGKJSDLKFDSJ

better get better + rant

I don't always get sick, but when I do, I use up a tissue box a day.

Even my gp told me that I've rarely been sick and even better, it's the week before mocks and I'm dying to buy some time to study more. At this rate, I'll be on my bed throughout the weekend and just letting my body fight off this stupid virus. This one is pretty dangerous I have to say, like my whole forehead down to the center of the face super tensed like someone's been tightening wukong's ring. Still went to school today anyway because I don't want to miss out on maths and mando and I need to buy some stationary but realised that it's gotten even worse so I got a sick leave and went home to sleep. Anyway I had 5 hours of sleep this afternoon that consists of sweating, waking up, change blanket, too cold, more blanket, too hot, sweating, wakes up again x100000

Change the topic
I feel like there are too many "researchers" out there who shouldn't be allowed to be human at all. Not even sorry to say this. It's so heartbreaking to know that people don't even feel ashamed when announcing that they're going to use 14 beagles for an experiment next week for "research" on rabies. This is so ridiculous and it makes me even more, dislike the type of community, species, we're turning into today. I, myself, don't know what to do to change or prevent such downfall in the society's moral principles AND this is why it frustrates me and it makes me feel darn helpless. I mean, if I'm here blogging, it means I am potentially able to do something, but I'm not, because I don't know how to. That frustrates me a lot.

Anyway, yeah rabies have been spreading in Taiwan and a people have died and everyone's paranoid about it. The so called "council of agriculture, executive yuan" are the ones who decided to do this. The want to test if ferret badger with rabies, will spread the fatal disease around to other animals and eventually humans. They're way too simple minded, even though it's a win/win plan for them. At last, if the beagles don't die from it, then they'll proclaim that the experiment was useful and so animal testing should be brought back to practice to better benefit the filthy mankind. On the other hand, if the beagles were to die, then they'll be saying, "oh the death of the beagles have given us more information on rabies and so we should thank them for their death because they've selflessly suffered and died for us". How pathetic can those people get?  Professor from National Taiwan University and I'm sure, everyone else, knows that rabies spread around all warm blooded animals, so there are no need to further sacrifice those beagles or use any kind of animal experimentation. As absurd as it sounds, the animal society of Taiwan said that animal experimentation is necessary for vaccination research and what not. Then again, lab rats are used so often and we rarely sympathize for them. Damn my emotions might have wiped out my ability to reason....

confession: hygiene

I realise that this post is very judgemental but it's just my reasoning and observation don't take it offensively, maybe take it as a reminder? NAH IT'S JUST MY RANT I NEED TO UPDATE AND KEEP THIS BLOG ALIVE OMG MOCKS MOCKS MOCKS I'M GOING TO BE EXTERMINATED DAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Watching people who look inexperienced at washing dishes : I can't bare watching it, to the point that I have to look away and just pretend they're doing fine or else I'll get irritated to the max and take over by force. Now I understand that expression on grandma's face when I first started washing dishes :\

First off, a person washing dishes with gloves on has either sensitive skin, or probably an extremely hygienic person. No I'm not complimenting the extremely hygienic people. Get real. You'll have to touch left over food to clean it. No one's going to serve you for the rest of your life and clean after your crap. You'll have to get over yourself and come to learn to clean messes you've made. Then if you don't like cleaning those messes, then don't even make mess in the beginning. "eww it's so disgusting I don't want to clean it" you'd say, but if you don't know how to clean after yourself, then you're either going to learn it the hard way, or earn a lot of money (or take money off your 'whoever') and pay someone to do it for you. With reference to my first point, I can't wash dishes with gloves on in general because the gloves prevents me from physically feeling the texture of the things I'm cleaning. With gloves on, it's way too hard to determine whether or not the plates are really clean.

Second, a person who often misses out several areas of the dishes are clearly in a rush -cough- or just lazy and inconsiderate (for themselves and everyone else). Most noticeably the bottom of the plates/bowls etc. Seriously? do those people even do legit shower? or do they just wash half of their body? Eh. Again, drawing back the the first point, 'gloveless' method helps to find areas that you haven't washed.

Thirdly, people who over rely on water to clean dishes have either an extraordinary cleaning method or theory in mind, or they're just happy-go-lucky let's hope the water is strong enough to wash off the things I don't want to touch. Water charges are increasing, unless you have some efficient hydroblasting equipment to wash your dishes, then please don't do it. Resources are costly. Just a heads up for those who've never ever seen a power/water bill.

Lastly, people who wash dishes thinking that it's just like one or two wipes on the surface... really ticks me off. This ain't some cubby house games you've been playing for the last (your age - 3years) years. Live it up and do it properly. If there were some machine that sends the dirty dishes back into the sink, I'd doubt you'll be able to ever finish. Do you realise how disgusting it is, the germs develop on the plates, day by day, it's going to stink and remain greasy. Ya like that?

I shall round this post up with ...........
lol idk how to D:

confession: posture

Recently, I've been extremely paranoid about developing scoliosis.

Most people who use laptops/computers etc from a day to day basis, are said to have minor scoliosis (just less than 20 degrees to one side). The age group which is most at risk of developing such horrid condition is.... -drum rolls- teeeeeeenagers. Woohoo! Well actually, we're just more likely to get it because it worsens at an exponential rate. Females are 9 times more at risk than males but that doesn't mean there's 0% for ya'll male readers. So if you have shit posture (haha yeah that's me), when you're fully developed and grown into an adult, you would have sore back and hip, constant pins and needles due to nerve problems, internal organs being pressured and squashed awkwardly together causing it not being able to function probably and most of all, it'd look abnormal and weird.

I've seen some wedding photos turning out to be bleh because the bride has a hunched back. Like they can't even straighten up anymore. Why not start straightening backs before we're stuck there for the rest of our lives. Ok maybe you could have surgery done but um no thanks too much $$ and time.

I still get scolded if sit with hunched back at the dining table. Ever since I lived with grandpa, he'd tap my shoulder or back whenever I naturally slouch forward and tell me to sit/stand straight. Then he'd compliment me if I sat really really really straight and I'd be like :''''''''D on the inside HAHAHAHHAHAH omg trained dog indeed. Psychology students know the name of this teaching method. I use to think that was annoying but now I'm so glad that he noticed my tendency to slouch. This actually turned into a competition between the cousins. We'd all be sitting at the dining table (family gathering) and the oldies/experiences aka me and Nelson would sit up really straight, then grandpa would be like "Maggie and Nelson have excellent posture!", then Jason, Tina and Leon would quickly follow up. As immature as it sounds, it feels awesome to the max to be first hand taught by grandpa (the process sucked), his way of education is almost a replica of the general military system, but in a nicer way. What I meant was that he doesn't use love as the foundation of everything, he uses practical methods, maybe it's the hard way, but certainly effective to a certain extent. Hopefully that has given me a bit of a taste of what society is like. BACK TO WHAT THIS POST WAS SUPPOSE TO BE TALKING ABOUT LOL

I do a self check on my spine #paranoid
+ Daily yoga stretching exercise to also improve my stiff body (were no where close to touching my toes wp)

A month or so after getting into this, I'm actually finding myself to be more awake, especially in class.
So please correct me when you see me with a terrible posture tyvm owe you my lyfe.

p.s. google image scoliosis I dare you.
p.p.s lol it's not even that scary
p.p.p.s until it happens to you

Decisions

It's so hard not to put off work.
I'm so asdlkfjasdlgkja nervous for mocks that's coming in two weeks.
My term 1 and term 2 holidays summarised:

Just found it on my timeline so I linked it here :L

Anyway, I think my thoughts are easily influenced (in general), regardless of the fact that I'm opinionated in things I'm interested in or subjects where I can/will need to unleash my inner unchangeable moral standards. Yeah, just in general, day to day basis questions and decisions are actually quite hard. I mean, I'm not even 100% sure of what I want to fill in on qtac or ___? I know what I want to do, for now, but I'm not sure if it's really the thing I will want to do in the future. I don't want to look back and be like, "damn I wish I chose ____".

I wasn't planning to go back to Taiwan this year but Julie (thanks heaps now you have to hang out with me or I'll blame you for my 2 weeks of inactive lifestyle, lying around at home 24/7 watching Taiwanese TV and playing on tw server) convinced me to go back to Taiwan anyway, at least for 1 week or so. I thought about it and reevaluated the chance of me doing something productive in the space of two weeks after graduation. Then I came to the conclusion of... "why not, I get to be a social outcast in Taiwan and that's cooooooool". Of course, as our family likes to do things efficiently... the ticket is now booked and I'm going back to Taiwan this year. Arh speaking of how Julie is so good at persuading me to do something... I must mention this omg in case I forget in the future. She was the one that persuaded me to try for qa, she spent weeks nagging Melissa and I about how the facilities are awesome (redeemer had fans but 80% of them were broken) and we get laptops. Yep. fml. But I met really awesome people, did many awesome things and were taught by top notch teachers so no regrets hashtag yolo.
